Native hedging
Native
hedges form excellent boundaries, provide interest and colour
throughout the year, and offer the ideal home for birds,
butterflies and small wild animals. They are easy to
plant and require little on-going maintenance.
We
supply containerised plants throughout the year, however, the
best time to
select bare-rooted stock is during the autumn and winter
months.
We supply the following
native hedging varieties:
 |
Blackthorn
(Sloes - Prunus) |
 |
Field Maple
(Acer Campestre) |
 |
Beech |
 |
Dogrose |
 |
Hazel |
 |
Quickthorn
(Cratageus) |
 |
Holly |
 |
Viburnum
Opulus |
 |
Hornbeam |
We suggest that each plant
should be placed around 12" apart, and in order to
develop a dense hedge, and keeping with tradition, we always
advise that two staggered rows should be planted, approx. 1ft apart.
