Our garden centre nursery at Three Legged Cross is packed with plants.
On the Dorset-Hampshire border, close to Verwood, Ringwood and Wimborne, yet only a short drive from
Bournemouth and Poole, Brackendale is not just another
garden centre but a ‘growing’ nursery in every sense,
offering a fantastic range of value for money plants that
you will not find elsewhere.

seasonal news and offers. We offer a great choice of
hedging plants, including field grown trees which are perfect for providing instant hedges and
immediate screening, and supply native hedging, fruit and ornamental
trees throughout the year. We stock a good range of
composts, including the very popular Violet Farm brand of
peat; multipurpose compost; horse and vegetable composts;
bags of ericaceous compost and ornamental bark.
We are open seven days a week
and our friendly and experienced staff are always available to
help. We sell and
redeem HTA National Garden Gift Vouchers/Tokens and offer garden
planning consultations and a delivery service throughout the year.

for summer flowering baskets and containers. If
you want to add some fresh seasonal colour to
your garden in the
coming months visit or call us.
Fruit trees - We have a wide
choice of edible fruits for sale including:
Apple, Cherry, Damson, Gage, Pear, Plum and Walnut trees
with dwarf, bush and standard forms available,
together with espalier apple trees,
ensuring plenty of choice to meet all
hedging plants - Brackendale is a garden
centre of choice for many customers wanting to
buy hedging plants in Dorset, Hampshire and
Wiltshire. If you want to plant a hedge or
establish a boundary, we always have quantities
of evergreen hedging plants available.
Popular varieties including Laurel, Griselinia, Thuja
and Yew are offered in a choice of heights and sizes,
and if you would prefer a mixed ornamental hedge
we are always pleased to offer advice and
guidance, with varieties of Escallonia,
Viburnum, Eleagnus, Pittosporum and Photinia
being a good choice for evergreen hedges.
Rhododendrons - There is no better time to
select azaleas and rhododendrons than now. With
the majority of varieties flowering during April and
May, the Nursery will be full of colour and these lovely
plants will be looking at their very best. We
stock dwarf, yakushimanum and hybrid rhododendrons,
together with scented and evergreen azaleas.
hedging and trees - Throughout the
year we maintain good supplies of green beech,
copper beech, hawthorn, blackthorn, hornbeam,
holly, hazel, maples and other varieties; in a
range of heights and sizes - and we are always available to calculate quantities and recommend
ideal variety mixes for specific hedging
requirements. If you need an Oak, Hornbeam, Pine
- Pinus Sylvestris, or other variety to fulfil a
Tree Preservation Order (TPO) replacement
obligation, select from our range of native
container grown trees.
Instant hedging -
If you're looking to achieve an instant hedge, block a
view, or increase privacy in your garden we have mature
evergreen shrubs available up to 2.1m high, and conifers up to 4m high. Plants can be
selected directly from our Nursery field to ensure they
best meet specific requirements.
April in the Nursery:
Our plant display areas are full with new season shrubs,
trees and perennials. Many of the cherry trees are
in blossom and there are lots of different varieties of Acer, Betula,
Cotoneaster, Malus, Prunus, Sorbus and Salix available now. As well as flowering ornamental trees, we
also have an extensive selection of fruit trees
including: Apple, Cherry, Pear, Plum and Walnut
trees with dwarf, bush and standard forms available,
together with espalier apple trees, ensuring plenty
of choice to meet all requirements. This really is a great time to plant,
