Growing for our community

Greenfingers Charity Giving

As a HTA gift card scheme member, we are pleased to be supporters of Greenfingers, the charity dedicated to creating beautiful outdoor spaces for children in hospice care centres, their families and friends. The charity has created 55 gardens to date, and funds raised through the sale of national gift cards helps to support the on going work of this charity to help ensure that more children can benefit from magical gardens at hospices throughout the UK.

Gifting for Wellbeing

For the past ten years we have been making annual donations of our nursery grown shrubs, perennial and bedding plants to our local Wellbeing of Women branch. The donated plants have been sold at summer fairs and garden parties to raise funds to support the charity's mission to save and improve the lives of women, girls and babies.

Inspiring the next generation

Engaging the younger generation is a great part about growing, and we always love to support school related planting projects when we can. At Verwood First School a collection of "pollinator friendly" plants was donated, and planted by parents and pupils to enhance the schools' outdoor spaces and encourage more wildlife.  A donation of apple, pear and plum trees, has been made to Wimborne St Giles First School to establish a new school orchard; and a collection of native trees, donated to Verwood Trinity School have been planted by the children to mark the naming of the schools' new house names.

Growing funds for the future

With ever increasing pressure on budgets, we know that additional fundraising is important to help buy extra resources within schools, and we have been pleased to donate trees and seasonal plants to some of our local schools including St James', St Mary's and Three Legged Cross First Schools, to help with their parent-led fundraising activities.
